WHAT WE'VE GOT GOING ON
We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to support our rapidly growing business. You’ll have a pivotal role in designing and implementing performance engineering culture, system, and tools in a fast-paced environment. The key to this role is your proven ability to influence, mentor, and coach engineering teams to build out our Platform with an eye for performance. The ideal candidate has a background being a strong developer who can influence and shape the patterns our teams will use to deliver value to the business. As a data-driven company your ability to convey approaches via data is paramount.
The engineering team in the company is a tight-knit group of high-performers. We value simplicity in both our code and our user interfaces. We don’t believe in large teams; we opt for small groups that move fast, communicate clearly, and achieve more. We try to choose the right tool for the job, not one tool to solve all problems. We make a huge impact on product direction, we experiment, and we iterate rapidly.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Be an evangelist for performance engineering in the company
Partner with engineering leadership to buildout data driven roadmap items to address performance in critical areas
Create tools, dashboards, and performance test plans
Mentor and grow our engineering acumen in areas of performance engineering
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE COMPANY
7-10 yrs engineering experience
2+ years specializing in areas of performance engineering
Established performance test environments and frameworks
Experience evangelizing performance engineering techniques within a data driven engineering culture
Deep hands on experience with JVM tuning techniques
Supported efforts in performance testing and improvement in common JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, JQuery)
Experience with Ruby (JRuby) and JavaScript
Extremely well versed in solving data access performance challenges across SQL data stores
Experience in AWS and other cloud providers when exploring different approaches to performance engineering
Experience with distributed architectures
Passionate about driving a performance engineering culture
Self-motivated; independent, organized and proactive
Flexible and adaptable when working across multiple engineering teams
