Are you a strong technical leader with proven success in building distributed microservices and data pipelines? Do you enjoy delivering business value by developing best in class software? Can you build and motivate high performance teams?
This is a highly technical position, with both management and hands on aspects. You will be facilitating your top-notch team to deliver innovative product features using cutting-edge backend technologies such as REST, Spark, Kafka, YARN, HDFS, Hbase and Presto.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test REST micro-services using Java or Scala.
- Build scalable, stable, and efficient data pipelines to collect, manipulate, store, and analyze large datasets and streams.
- Use internal and external APIs to retrieve and update data efficiently.
- Collaborate with other teams such as PM, QE and SRE.
- Groom a backlog and run an efficient scrum process.
- Hire, train and mentor your team members
Requirements
- 5 years of relevant experience in leading software development.
- Computer Science or equivalent degree.
- Real-time big-data system design skills.
- REST API fluency.
- Data driven applications or data pipelines skills.
- Distributed systems knowledge.
- Spark and Scala experience.
- Excellent personal skills and strong leadership.
Compensation
This is an on-site, full time salaried position located in our San Francisco world headquarters office. We provide Equity participation, best in class comprehensive health plans including medical, vision and dental, in addition to flex time off and reimburses 50% of monthly commuting costs for parking and/or mass transit up to the IRS limitations. Our world headquarters is located in the financial district of San Francisco, with remote offices in Chicago, New York, Austin, and Portland. European headquarters are located in London, with additional offices in Singapore, Paris, Hamburg, Sydney and Tokyo.
