We are looking for an excellent engineering leader to scale the initial success of the company to the next level. The ideal candidate will be experienced and passionate about taking an early stage tech company with initial product-market-fit into one that grows healthily and is ready to scale rapidly once the time comes. As an executive member of our team, you will lead the company by: 1) building a scalable and high quality engineering practice, putting great culture, processes, and tools in place; 2) strategically planning, organizing, and executing full scope engineering work; 3) recruiting and cultivating top tier engineering talents.

* Building a scalable engineering practice: 
- Lead the company’s efforts in turning early success into repeatable and growing results in full scope engineering work, in the areas including: data-pipelining and integration, new product development, and constant infrastructure construction & upgrading. 
- Build an excellent culture, efficient work flows, effective performance measurements and compensation plans, and comprehensive communication systems for the engineering department to produce fast and high quality results. 
- Provide architectural guidance and directions around engineering work; stay current with best engineering practice and provide guidance to the team; stay current with technologies and provide strategic advice to the leadership team.

* Leading engineering strategy & execution: 
- Strategically plan engineering work on annual, quarterly, and sprint basis following the company’s OKR framework; ensure excellent alignment of engineering priorities with the company’s priorities; ensure clear communication of priorities and plans with different roles (both within and outside of the engineering team) in the company accordingly. 
- Produce fast and high quality engineering work results. 
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication to different roles in the company accordingly about engineering work results or progress against goals, challenges, and plan for the next steps.

* Recruiting and growing a top notch engineering team: 
- Effectively recruit top tier talents in the domain upon company’s need. 
- Mentor, empower, and grow all engineers in both technical and professional skills. 
- Keep the engineering team constantly highly motivated with excellent employee satisfaction.

* BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering discipline; 5+ years of hands on software engineering work experience; 3+ years of engineering management experience; proficiency with technologies around Python, ES6, Docker, Postgresql, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, flask, nginx, terraform, AWS S3, ECS, Fargate, React, Redux, Flow, mocha, chai, enzyme, and webpack. 
* Passionate about taking an early stage tech company into one that’s ready to scale. 
* Successful experience building and growing an engineering team with excellent results. 
* Successful experience in data-infrastructure and enterprise SaaS are big pluses. 
* Hungry for impact & growth, motivated for constant learning, proactive at collaboration, strong sense of responsibility, and love to have fun. 
* Demonstrated success in thinking & working strategically. 
* Results driven; highly capable of executing in a fast-paced environment.
