Job Description
As a Senior Engineer on the VEN team, you will fully own and design features for the Virtual Enforcement Node, from concept, design, development to release and support, as well as provide company-wide engineering leadership on Unix platforms.
You will work directly with various Engineering teams, Product Management and customers to bring desired features to market. Your software will be running on some of the most critical and sensitive application workloads across the globe, enabling the ability to enforce security policies within our Adaptive Security Platform. Your efforts will contribute to a lean agent that delivers security by building on proven, pre-existing mechanisms inside Unix operating systems (Linux, Solaris, AIX). You will bring expertise in building system services combined with extensive Unix platform knowledge that can be leveraged to build innovative solutions.
Qualifications
You are highly skilled at solving problems, are motivated and self-driven, and are ready to work with a small, senior, strong team of engineers in a quickly growing company:
- Experience working in distributed systems
- Experience developing endpoint software
- ~10+ years of experience in Unix systems software development
- Strong Linux knowledge required; AIX and Solaris experience is highly desirable.
- Solid networking fundamentals (L2-L7); SDN and encapsulation experience desirable.
- Deep understanding of the IPFilter and/or IPTables; open-source firewalls is desirable
- Experience developing multi-threaded and multi-process applications
- Solid experience with high performance and scalable systems
- Languages: Strong C++, C
