Hardware Engineer will be responsible for both analog and digital circuit design, development, testing, and refinement of electrical systems and sub-systems for medical devices. The successful candidate will be capable of providing strong technical leadership on new development projects, while assisting in sustaining currently manufactured products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and development of analog and digital circuits such as power supplies, batteries, signal acquisition and conditioning, and microcontrollers
Design and analysis of analog and digital circuits to meet critical safety, reliability, and EMC requirements
Development of system-level and hardware-level product requirements and specifications
System integration with mechanical and software sub-systems and components
Create and support test protocols for the verification and validation of hardware and embedded software
Partner closely with other team members including software, mechanical, quality, validation, regulatory, and manufacturing to successfully bring the product to market
Transfer design to production by collaborating with manufacturing on tools, processes, and training
Support products in production by conducting root cause analysis, risk analysis, and implementing corrective actions
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus 10 years’ work experience. An advanced degree a plus.
Strong digital and analog hardware design experience for embedded systems including microprocessor, analog front-end, and power supply design with schematic capture and board layout
Experience with designing to meet EMI/EMC regulations
Experience with printed circuit board design tools (CAD, simulation), embedded software development tools, ICE, logic analyzers, and configuration management software
Experience in writing requirements and technical specifications required
Experience with real-time embedded software design/programming a plus
Experience working in a highly-regulated industry required; FDA design controls experience preferred
