Job Description
We are seeking an Hardware Design Engineer who will contribute in architecting, designing and deploying the next generation of our product's hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience developing complex hardware architectures paying particular attention to power consumption. This position is an integral part of the product development team and will regularly collaborate with the embedded, smartphone and server engineering teams. Our hardware design team are an integral part of the company and are responsible for the system design, factory bring up, and validation activities.
Responsibilities
> Architect, design, implement, and maintain our future product from component selections to pcb designs to manufacturing.
> Work with all cross-functional teams to deliver a successful product to market.
> Validate your design: complete functional verification, compliance testing and system coexistence testing.
> Bring your design to mass production, assist in software bring up and make sure your product is built successfully.
Requirements:
> BS and/or MS EE or ECE
> 6+ years work experience in consumer electronics/embedded systems design.
> Strong EE fundamentals, including ability to design high speed digital and/or analog systems.
> Experience with: embedded systems, processor selection, various communication protocols (especially I2C, SPI and UART), higher power, sensor design, analog design, audio subsystems, AC power line devices, RF and compliance testing.
> Must love being part of the bring up processes - we build things.
Experience bringing up different sensing technologies (Sound, PIR, Camera) and interpreting data.
> Demonstrated capability in applying EE best practices to hardware designs
> Solid board bring-up and debug skills (JTAG, oscilloscopes, etc.)
> Experience with power supply design and power electronics

> Experience with bringing products through FCC and UL compliance testing
> Proficiency in C and embedded software development environments
> Experience with Bluetooth LE or other wireless network equivalents
> Experience with Linux and/or Android Kernel
> Experience with python scripting
> Digital signal processing (DSP) experience
> High level knowledge of audio recognition systems
> Experience with AC power line devices / power line monitoring
> Experience managing team/project
Skills
Electrical Engineering, Microchip PIC and dsPIC, Circuit Board Design, WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth HW, PIC Microcontrollers/Firmware Programming
Compensation
$105K – $125K and higher (DOE)
0.15% – 0.2%
